The Art of Marriage
The Art of Marriage is a marriage enrichment course which assists women to understand God’s plan for relationships. It weaves together expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design. The topics covered include:
- God’s Purpose and Plan
- Overcoming Isolation
- Fulfilling Our Responsibilities
- Communication and Conflict
- Experiencing real Intimacy
- Leaving A Lasting Legacy
Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University. During her professional career, she has been a teacher, reading specialist, educational consultant, business owner, training manager, and non-profit executive director. While living in Pittsburgh, PA, Chris was employed by TWOgether Pittsburgh as a Program Manager responsible for the leadership, design, implementation, and evaluation of mentoring programs to promote healthy marriages and families.
Chris is married to David and has two grown sons. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and reading in her spare time. After 36 years of marriage where commitment and faith have provided a firm foundation, Chris is delighted to once again be involved in an initiative which promotes healthy and sustained marriage relationships.

Jon and Nan Conlon will our guest speakers, along with Chris Bugher 10:30 am Sunday, 3/18/18.
John is a retired Navy Chief having served with Coastal Riverine Squadron 8, Naval Mobile Construction Batallion 40 and 23, and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004 -2005. He currently works at the National Institutes of Health as Chief Technology Officer with Division of Facilities Operations and Maintenance. In ministry, he leads the Waterboyz for Jesus Boot Camp, is a Stephen Minister, and serves as a discipleship class facilitator at Damascus Road Community Church.
Nan served from 2004-2005 as Navy Ombudsman with Naval Mobile Construction Batallion 23, managing military family support during the unit’s deployment in Iraq. She is employed with Damasus Road Community Church as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Pastor, Men’s Ministry and Local Outreach.
John and Nan serve collaboratively in their ministry areas together. They have a collective heart for seeing marriages thrive with Christ at the center and recently stepped into the role.
